Welcome

We thought our family was complete. Then in November we met A, a thirteen-year-old boy from Russia, who crossed our path and forever changed our hearts. As we look back, we can see so many ways that God was preparing our hearts to be open to adoption. To some it may seem accidental or coincidental, but to us it is more. It is God working.

We met A when he traveled with the Lighthouse Project, an organization that brought a group of seven Russian orphans to our area for a ten-day experience in America. During their visit the children attended a vacation Bible school, received a Russian Bible, and stayed with a host family. The hope for these visits was that the children would come to know Christ and possibly find a “forever family.” Our dear friends were hosting A, and we thought it would be a great experience for our children to interact with him and thus enlarge their world. It became the beginning of God working in the hearts of our family to the point where we now desire to bring A into our family.

We are currently on the road to adopting A, hoping to make him part of our family within the next year. We have a long way to go in the process and many hurdles to overcome along the way. We are praying for God’s continued guidance and provision as we take this huge leap of faith, and for A, that he would come to know and accept Christ and that God would prepare him to accept our family as his own. We would love it if you would pray along with us.

This is totally awesome. Thank you so much for sending it to us. We are thrilled to be part of this journey with you. Through our faith I've seen great things happen and continue to happen. We will be praying for your family and Alex throughout the days ahead. I'm so glad God has brought our families together through Lighthouse and look forward to the friendship we will build through this adoption process.

Congratulations! I am "unofficial" family of the family that is adopting Yuri and found your link on their site. I will add you to my prayer list as you walk the path that God has led you too.

I too am in the process of adopting, however the path that God led me down was through the Foster Care System in Brown County. It has been nearly a three year journey so far (picked up S at the hospital when she was 4 days old and she turns three the end of February.

God Bless you on your journey.
